I finished it in a little over 11 hours but I was taking my time messing around with the cave painting and physics and taking in the views a lot. so it's not just a "tech demo" with pretty graphics. There is indeed a lot of climbing, but also sections with stealth, combat, crafting, story, etc. The traversal can give some pretty intense feelings of inertia and heights which I found thrilling. If you want a AAA-quality linear cinematic adventure that isn't a horror game, it's the only game on the system. It depends on what kinds of games you're interested in. So if you like that one, I would guess you like COTM as well. I had actually similar issues with the flat screen Horizon which I couldn't finish: too monotonous / boring combat, little mechanics, execution details and pacing choices that killed the immersion for me personally. First jump would've been fine but it got irritating really fast. I don't need any reaction to grab at the right time, just press the button during the 2sec slow mo window. Why? I don't get slow mo in real life so the jumps feel very dull. ![]() Then there's a small thing: there are cool jumping moments in the game, but the immersion is again absolutely killed in these for me because one small thing developers decided to add for a reason I cannot understand: slow mo effect in every single jump. But the level design is extremely linear and the collectable system gets very repetitive quite fast, both of those points again hurt the immersion. Climbing had very cool moments here and there and the game looks very pretty. Combat is very monotonous and simple, not very immersive either when it's so structural: move around in a circle while enemy loops through a small set of various combat animations that are extremely easy to dodge. Managed to play halfway through before coming to conclusion that the game is not worth my time. I was quite disappointed by the game in the end even though I was looking forward to it.
